England caretaker manager Lee Carsley has been full of praise for Angel Gomes after the 24-year-old impressed on his debut for the Three Lions as
England eased to a comfortable 2-0 win over Finland in the Nations League on Wednesday, with Harry Kane netting twice on his 100th appearance for the Three Lions.
Gomes has been central to England’s impressive run of form, starting alongside Arsenal’s Declan Rice. Carsley said of the former Manchester United midfielder:
“He’s a guy who loves football, he follows the game, he’s a guy who’s tactically minded, he knows every player in every league.
“If you want feedback from him you have to be prepared. For it to be about a training session or how we build up play or positioning. “
